Aug 6(LTIT) –The Washington-headquartered Can Manufacturing Institute (CMI), in a statement, said that demand for aluminum cans peaked during the pandemic period.

The statement noted that aluminum can has the highest recycling rate among all categories of beverage packaging. There has been a visible shift from plastic bottles and other alternatives to aluminum cans, especially due to environmental concerns. The environment-friendly aluminum containers have witnessed unprecedented demand. Several craft breweries and soft drink majors have been reporting difficulties in sourcing aluminum cans for their products, CMI added.
